How can I read my email through webmail?

Your can reach your mail box by entering http://www.yourdomain.com/roundcube/. Here you login with your email account as you have created in the control panel of DirectAdmin.

How can I create extra email accounts?

Through the control panel (DirectAdmin) can you create extra email accounts. The number of email boxes is limited by the hosting package you have chosen.

Login with your username and password on DirectAdmin: http://www.yourdomain.com:2222/
In the start screen E-mail management you have the following options: (depending on your hosting package)

  •  POP3 e-mail accounts: Here you can create extra email accounts
  •  Catch-all e-mail: This email address will receive all wrong addressed email (like to an user who doesn't excists) on your site. This address can be your [username]@yourdomain.com or any other account.
  •  Forwarding: By creating forwarders you can forward a email address from your domain to another email account
  •  Holiday messaging: Activate an automatic message when you are away for a longer period
  •  Spamassassin settings: Create your own spam filter
 

How do I send and receive email in Outlook Express?

If yourdomain is used in this example, you have to use your own domain name.

  1. Start Outlook Express. Click "Tools" and then accounts.
  2. Click "Add" and then "Mail..."
  3. Enter your name and click "Next >".
  4. Enter your email address and click "Next >".
  5. Enter incoming and outgoing mail servers. You make a choice between IMAP or POP'
    The advantage of IMAP over POP is when you use several email accounts, IMAP creates a seperate folder for each account and keeps a copy of your emails on the server.
    At POP3 you enter mail.yourdomain.com and at SMTP you enter mail.yourdomain.com or the SMTP server from your internet provider.

  6. At account name you enter your email address and your password.
    If you are the only person using your computer, you can use the option "Remember password". Click "Next >" and in the following screen click "Finish".
  7. If you have followed all steps as described above, you will notice that your email account is now visible under "Internet Accounts" 
    By clicking the account and then "Properties" (right side of the menu) you can rename the account.
  8. You now choose the tab "Servers". Check, under Outgoing mail servers, "My server requires authentication" and click "Settings...". Choose option "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". Click "OK" and then click "Apply".
  9. You are now ready to use your email account.
 

I cannot send emails from Outlook (Express), what should I do?

Since a while some providers have blocked port 25, this means for you that when using IDNO mailservers, your outgoing mailserver is blocked. There are 2 ways to fix this. 

  1. You can use the mailserver from you provider as outgoing mailserver. You need to check with your provider which settings are used for this.
  2. You can change the port for outgoing e-mail (SMTP). The new port will be port 587

In Outlook Express you edit the settings as following:

  1. Go to 'Accounts' in 'Extra'
  2. Select an account and click 'Properties'
  3. Select 'Advanced'
  4. Change the port at 'Outgoing email (SMTP)' in 587.
  5. Click 'Ok'
 

Domains

Can I move my domain from another provider to IDNO?

Yes, it is possible to move your domain from your current provider to IDNO. Possible current website are NOT being moved. If you want to accommodate your website with IDNO, you need to have an up to date back up of your website. After movement you can place this back up on our server. You have to cancel your contract at your current provider yourself, after this you can request the movement to IDNO.
 

I have a domain, can I connect it to your webhosting?

Yes, there are 2 ways to do this:

  1. Change the name servers:  If you change the name servers for the domain, then all functions of this domain will be executed on our server. Ask your current provider to change the name servers from your domain to our name servers.

  2. Changing IP address for the www-record: If you redirect the IP address  of the www-record to our IP address then only the www part will enter our server. Items as email will stay at your current provider. Ask your current provider to only adjust the www part of your domain to our IP address.

Am I the judicial owner of a domain name after registration?

Yes, the domain is registered in your name. You are the judicial owner and you decide what to do with the domain name.
 

What is the minimum contract period for a domain?

The minimum contract period is one year. A contract can also be closed for 5 or 10 years.
 

What can I use a domain for?

  1. Create your company presentation on internet 
  2. Use it for email (by using a web email package)
  3. Connect it to webhosting
  4. Use for subdomains (http://office.yourdomain.com)
 

What is a domain?

A domain is your own unique address on the internet that contains a name and a extensions (e.g. yourdomain.com, yourdomain.eu).

What is a Joomla support contract?

Joomla is an Open Source product.

An upgrade offers, beside solving possible problems, usually also a number of modifications in the security. Especially to optimize the security of your website and always using the latest version. With a joomla support contract IDNO will take care of all functionality and security updates.

 

Are there made back ups of my site?

IDNO makes a daily back up of all servers. This means that the content of all webspaces which are hosted by IDNO are stored and overwritten once a day. You can retrieve your complete website from 24 hours before. 

It is also possible to make history back ups from 30 days for € 30,-- per year.

 

Can I adjust my hosting package to a smaller or larger package?

It is alway possible to upgrade or downgrade your package. At an upgrade the costs al ready made will be calculated on the new invoice. At a downgrade you can not request a refund. Therefore it is wise to request a downgrade at the end of the contract period.

I want to host multiple domains in one package, is this possible?

You can host multiple domains with different webhosting packages, although it is more profitable to host multiple domains within one package. This is possible with the Web Pro package.

 

How do I enter my statistics?

The statistics for your website are accessable through the DirectAdmin panel (http://www.yourdomain.com:2222/) under  Summary / Statistics / Logs.

If you exceed your data limitations we will contact you. You then have 3 possibilities:

1. Upgrading to a higher producttype before your exceed the data limit

2. Pay afterwards for extra used data traffic

3. Buy extra data traffic to prevent exceeding it in the future

 

 

Is email traffic considered as data use?

Yes, email traffic is a part of your data use.
